Job description


LuxCMA is seeking a highly motivated and strategic professional to join our team in Luxembourg. This role is central to our mission of positioning LuxCMA as an essential pillar of the Luxembourg financial sector and driving its continued growth and influence. The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding the Association’s membership base, fostering international partnerships, and strengthening engagement with regulatory authorities and peer associations across Europe and beyond.

Key responsibilities


  • Drive membership growth by identifying and attracting new members from across the capital markets ecosystem, including banks, asset managers, law firms, service providers, and fintech companies.
  • Develop and implement strategies to expand the Association’s reach beyond Luxembourg, establishing collaborative partnerships with peer associations in key European jurisdictions and international financial centres relevant to Luxembourg’s capital markets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with regulatory authorities, policymakers, and government bodies in Luxembourg and at EU level, positioning LuxCMA as a trusted voice and essential stakeholder in financial services policy discussions.
  • Engage proactively with other industry associations, trade bodies, and international organisations to foster collaboration, share best practices, and amplify LuxCMA’s influence on cross-border regulatory matters.
  • Monitor and analyse EU and Luxembourg legislative proposals, consultations, and regulatory developments, translating these into actionable insights and strategic recommendations for members.
  • Report regularly to the Board of the Association, providing updates on membership growth initiatives, international partnerships, member engagement, and strategic developments.
  • Collaborate with and support LuxCMA’s Working Groups, facilitating their activities, coordinating cross-group initiatives, and ensuring alignment with the Association’s strategic objectives.
  • Design and execute member engagement programmes to maximise retention and ensure members derive tangible value from their participation, supporting LuxCMA’s role as an indispensable resource for the financial sector.
  • Organise high-profile events, conferences, and workshops that bring together members, international partners, regulators, and industry leaders to foster dialogue and reinforce LuxCMA’s position as a leading industry association.
  • Support the preparation of position papers, consultation responses, and advocacy materials that represent members’ interests and advance Luxembourg’s standing as a capital markets hub.

Requirements


  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in capital markets, financial services, business development, or association management.
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of French, German, or Luxembourgish is an asset.
  • Ideally, a legal background with familiarity with the EU and Luxembourg legislative processes.
  • Proven track record in stakeholder engagement, relationship building, and partnership development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to represent the Association professionally at high-level events, international forums, and in meetings with senior stakeholders.
  • Organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for growth and building strategic partnerships.

Preferred qualifications


  • Experience in membership development, business development, or working within an industry association or trade body.
  • Established network within the Luxembourg and European financial services community, including contacts with peer associations and regulatory bodies.
